Free projects for virtual cockpits builders community
This site has been created to pool all the projects, works and ideas related
with the building of flight simulators cockpits, and with the main aim of
using open and free licences. The only restriction is the commercial usage
without previous permission from the owner.
In this site you'll be able to find from basic help topics for beginners,
manuals or tutorials useful to build elements for your own cockpit, to
specific projects for the electronics components related with flight
simulation, and also software projects.
In the same way, we wish to share your experience and knowledge, so we are
open to include your particular project if it fits with the general idea of
this site and it's useful for the rest of the cockpit builders community.

FS Weekend 2011 – Lelystad, The Netherlands. Nov. 5-6 2011
As usual, Opencockpits will be present at the event. As an improvement, this year the stand will be attended by our partner AVIOSIM.

New version 4.00 of SIOC available
Version 4.00 of SIOC is already available for download.
This new version besides of touching up some bugs, optimizes the performance of the IOCards, provides new functions and adds more devices to be controlled.
The new version implements an special communications protocol via UDP, that allows the remote control of all electronic cards connected to any SIOC in the same network.
It also incorporates a Monitor program that allows to monitorize and send commands to any card or SIOC connected to computers in the same network. This application is of big help to verify the status and be able to check any element in a cockpit being working with one or more SIOC servers.
The software is free for NON commercial use.
The new software is compatible with all Windows Operating Systems, 7, NT, XP, Vista, both 32 and 64 bits.

ANNOUNCE OUR PARTNERSHIP WITH STICHTING AVIOSIM NEDERLAND
We would like to announce our partnership with Stichting Aviosim Nederland for a limited distribution of our products in the Netherlands.
Aviosim is a non benefit foundation, located at the Lelystad Aviodrome Air Museum, see of the yearly Flight Simulator Weekend, one of the most prestigious flight simulation events in Europe.
Our partnership allows AVIOSIM to provide many of our products at big discounts to his members, and their Flight Simulator installation serves as a showcase for our products.
We came to this agreement on the International Flight Simulator Weekend 2010 in the Aviodrome. In that museum, the Aviosim Foundation (Stichting Aviosim Nederland) is operating an old Dutch Aerospace Laboratory Static Flight Simulator and an old SARP II Radar Simulator (used by the Air Traffic Control the Netherlands a decade ago). The entire project is staffed with volunteers who are spending spare time on the project.
