Hello,
My LED display got very weak intensity . I checked if 5 V came to the display card, and it's look good . But the voltage between the 8 pins connector and the other there is 0.5 V ...
Why ?

Do You use the proper model of digit?. Do you have USB expansion?. With the USB card connect to PC and the master don´t connect to power supply, the display turn on weak. The power source of the display is thru the master. If you have USB, you must connect to power only the master.

I can't solve your problem JFO. I have the same SC36 LEDs and board. They display quite brightly in my MCP.
Remember, the board is a multiplexer. It basically uses the crystal to distribute the 5v power to each of the segments in sequence. Each LED segment is not on all the time. You can see this effect if you shoot the LEDs with a high speed movie or videocamera. They will flicker. I'm not sure what your RMS voltmeter should read when you connect it to directly to a segment but I would suspect it would be a lot lower than 5v.
Lots of luck. I'm sure someone will get back to you with a solution.

I got a idea .
Is it possible to make a parallel connection on each digit segment with a resistor to increase the voltage intensity in the display ?

Hi, I have the same problem with the same digits... I was thinking about being the digits and was about to order the SRWA ones... but now...
They can be barely seen daytime, I have 5v connected to master card and not to USB from an ATX supply.
If anyone can give a trick would be glad.

How it is possible ?
What type of alimentation do you use ? (PC alim or other type ?)
Can you tell me how voltage do you have at the PCB digit display between the 8 pins connector and the other pins contector ?
I am really disappointed ?
